Dec. 7, 1941 - May we never forget...

80 years ago a surprise attack by Japanese forces occurred at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. The attack killed more than 2,000, injured 1,178 and led to America's entry into WWII. During the attack, six U.S. batteships were sunk and more than a dozen others were damaged. 300 airplanes were also destroyed.

The U.S. Navy file photo shows a small boat rescuing a USS West Virginia (BB-48) crew member from the water after the bombing.
